Control the process, not the product!
Machining is more science than art, master the science and the artistry will be evident.
Prices have sure gone up.
The last time I went you could find
a 30" machining center for under 40K.
This show they were around 60K.
I saw one that was $120,000.
Haas seems to be the only one that
had that price. Saw one in the north
building from a Taiwan builder that
matched Haas, but you had to ship it in.
The north building impressed me the most.
There were some strange machines there.
Liked Exone's booth, Rapid Prototyping metal.
Fanuc's robots sure drew a crowd.
This was the fifth IMTS I had the opportunity to display at as an exhibitor. It was the most active and upbeat by far. Lots of positive attitude from the attendees. Hopefully a good sign for the future!
