OSP7000 Limit Indicating Lamp (always on)

Hello! We have a new (used) LB15 on shop floor trying to get started. The manual states 'The LIMIT indicating lamp goes on when X- and Z-axis reach the set variable soft-limit position'. This is accurate when we started setting up this machine, however after changing the USER Parameter Variable Limits and changing Zero Offsets this lamp always stays on regardless of where slides are jogged. Any help on this would be quite appreciated! Thanks, Lisa

it can also light if the top speed is reached.
for example G50 S2000 and G96 S1000 machining at any diameter below 3" will result in a spindle RPM of 2000. Since it is limited to 2000 RPM and your spindle is at 2000 RPM the limit light will come on (and flash if I recall correctly)
If it is not RPM related try adjusting program sizes to move to a smaller X/Z position that is within the limits of the machine.
However if the spindle is not on and your slides are not on the limits you have another problem like maybe a stuck limit switch? Also check that your zero offset is not causing your coordinates be become outside the variable limits.
Try putting the limits and zero offset back to what it was and see if the light goes off.

    maybe a stuck limit switch?
check if you don't operate with "OT release" on. It's not working mode - it is for emergency axis move only.
Also check that your zero offset is not causing your coordinates be become outside the variable limits.
Try putting the limits and zero offset back to what it was and see if the light goes off.

check OSP data record and set offsets as recorded. Do you understand the dfference between system limits and user limits?

Change these values back to original and see if the problem disappears.

Not a limit switch - that would be a hard limit condition and you would get a "Stroke End Over" alarm. The "Limit" light comes on whenever you are at an axis limit. Do you have a W-axis on this machine, or strictly an X and Z axis? You can go to Check Data, look at the RAPA positions of the axis (actual encoder position) and then compare them to the variable limits set. If the RAPA value for any of the axis falls outside the range of the variable limits of the machine (Machine variable limits), then that is the axis that is causing the Limit light to come on. Possible someone swapped out an encoder to get the machien to power up and then sold the machine off without setting the new limits - could be way, way off. Note: If this is the case, you will need to re-establish the Stroke End Limits for the axis in question. Whenever a stroke end limit is changed, it will automatically change the machine variable limit to the same number, and then you can change the machine variable numbers to be within the stroke limits, but never outside them.

    Thanks for the replies!

Thanks for the good help and direction frfom each of you. There was something in eveyone's reply that heped me advance with this machine!
