    Horizontal 5 axis

    hi,just got a job on a haas ec 1600 5axis hrizontal milling iam only used to vertical milling programming,so I would normally have my cpl in top view,witch view should I start my program in top or front view? and how do I add another one like a g56 and g57 and witch view must they be in?? plz help?!!

    it should work just like the 3 axis machine laying on its back for the most part, till you get fancy it is really nothing more.

    our 3 axis generator still worked fine when we first got a horizontal even programs for the 3 axis worked without regenerating for simple parts ran on same controller type in vertical.

    adding offset callouts will depend on your shop process and code generator, mine is set up to use the work datum override box on the "more" tab of each tool.

    dont make it more complicated by over thinking it.
    it is still just a machine but with a really cool indexer on it oriented kinda funny

    Hi Mikey,

    Have a look at the example files supplied with the Edgecam program files. There's a couple of good(ish) horizontal parts that might be useful for reference.
