A VERY Nice Free Feeds and Speeds Calculator

    FSWizard

In addition to the web-based calculator linked to above, there is a downloadable version, which is even better. Just go to the link above, then click on the "FSWizardownload" tab near the top of the page. This is far and away the best freeware calculator I've ever seen, and it's calculated values correspond well with the values I've been using for years. It correctly handles both radial and axial chip thinning, and spindle torque and power, and allows you to enter your machines limits for power, rpm, feedrate, and torque. It even estimates tool deflection! You'd be crazy NOT to download and use this!

    Regards,
    Ray L.

Hi guys, since this is posted in bench-top cnc forum...
How close the results its giving out are to what you actually use?

Are there any considerations other than 2 hp max spindle?

Do you find say 80% SFM, 70%Feed or any other override combination most common for both milling and drilling on light machines?
