I do not think DPRINT works with ethernet. RS-232 only.

very briefly, you can use it to send specific data from the control through the serial port. Read the operating manual for your control to see how to use it. Not all controls have it.

Correct on an 18i, but incorrect on a Fanuc 30i. You can DPRNT to channel 9 on these machines, though it does require some file manipulation at the PC end.

Firstly you need to setup the COMPUTER & CNC Machine to be able to EXCHANGE DATA.

Please mention your email ID, so that i can mail you that document.

    Thanks

Does anyone know how to get dprnt to work successfully with a DNC (RS232) software besides using a text command to start and stop the connection? I believe the issue im having is that our DNC software (predator) requires a % sign to start/open and stop/close the connection. The percent sign is needed to upload/download programs, for all the machines so I can't change the start and stop commands in the DNC parameters, like i have seen examples of on other DNC screenshots.
However, there has to be away around this, many hours of internet research has been done, so any help would be much appreciated, thanks. P.S. Any way of using the Dc2 and Dc4 signals from Popen/Pclos to achieve this?

    Re: DPRNT function on 18i

Is there a way to pull variables out of the machine and store them in .txt file?
I'd like to record cycle time of every part and calculate average time of mechanical processing.
