    Very New to this...PLEASE HELP

    ok im very new to all this

    i have the cnc 3040 chines machine...all assembled and testing fine...

    i purchased a new computer with the parallel port and have it all connected up as per the instruction manual...

    the DRIVERTEST.EXE is showing all is good...

    but the MANUAL CONTROL MODE will not respond to any commands.....IE..i cant get any of the driver motors to move...

    sorry if im being a pain...but as i said...im very new to all this..

    i just need help...

    anu you guys out there want to help a lady in distress...lol

    Guys...remember the first time you turned on a cnc software and machine....well thats where i am at now....

    just cant seem to get the software to activate the cnc machine....

    if someone is prepared to help me get this thing going

    we could go to YAHOO CHAT which is more faster to communicate

    ok guys....ive got my machine responding to the mach 3 software....the axis are all moving....

    so im sort of figuring it out very slowly

    but a little help would be great please

    my next dilemma im trying to figure out is how i set the table size ...or table placement of a material and have my project on the mach 3 screen co-ordinate and know exactly where the material and job is located on the table

    ok ..i know these may seem like stupid questions

    but like i said....im just learning

    any help ??????

    I assume you are using Mach3 because of Drivetest.exe. It sounds like you do not have your Port address right on the setup page.
    On the computer. Go to "computer" right mouse click(RMB) "properties"
    then in "device manager" find your parralel port, RMB "properties", the go to "resources" there sould be a 4 digit letter/number there. add this number to the port address in Mach. As I remember thats how it went anyway.
    If that doesn.t work try the Mach forum or Machsupport Forum - Index

    as i mentioned Mike...i got the computer and machine co-ordinated and movement occuring..

    now i just need tuition with the mach 3 software

    To save alot of posting you should look at the support tutorial videos on the Mach web site. They will answer many of your questions.
