Question Best way to replace x axis rod on maxnc -10? tia

Sorry for the mundane question, but I searched and couldn't figure the best way to replace the x axis rod?

In shipping the maxnc 10 decoupled from the y axis rod and it slammed into the x axis, bending the threaded rod...

is the best place to buy a replacement the company that produces the maxnc 10 still? or is there somewhere more generic i can replace that rod ?

Thanks in advance to anyone who answers, and sorry to ask such a basic q.

The leadscrews in that machine are 1/4" acme threaded rod, which is why it tends to bend so easily. It's no different from any other acme all-thread, except on some models it was turned down on the end to accommodate a 1/8'/1/4" rigid coupler. If your couplers are 1/4"-1/4" you can just cut the screw to size and crunch the setscrews into the thread. Otherwise, either turn yours down or get another coupler. The screw stock is available from MSCdirect.com and other suppliers; you don't need to get it from MaxNC.
