Hi ,
I want to add a 4th axis to one of my machines and was wondering if any one has done this or if someone has one for sale that will work directly with my machine control. I already have an extra bosch axis drive board .
Thanks

I been trying to find the answer to your question for about 2 years. Where I'm at is changing the motor on one of my tables. The problem is that only my 4th has the Bosch drive, rest are Siemens, so I don't know what motors work with the Bosch drive. Can you provide me with the servo data from any of your axis.
Thanks
The Heidenhain will need a sinusoidal encoder signal.probably 11uA,the 100 series control needed 18000 or 36000 ppr and I expect this to be the same but can`t find any info.
Hi guys ... I just posted a new thread outlining the results of my journey through making a functional 4th axis for the Interact. I've been delaying making a post about it as I've been using for a few months without any problems.
Gridley51, you're exactly right, it takes 18000 or 36000 encoder counts per revolution for a 151B controller ...
The post is "Functional A-Axis for Bridgeport Interact - It works!", posted 1-5-2014.
Bottom line - its a practical and doable project for our machines.
