I've been looking for one of these machines for a while and every time I find one the deal falls through for one reason or another. I'd be interested in RTR machines or complete machines that need electrical work.

Where are you located and what are you looking to spend? I have a 2400 that I am trying to decide if I want to upgrade with gecko to get going or something. I have a prototype I am working on that I need operational by the middle of January and I am trying to decide if I want to upgrade/learn Mach 3 or go with what i know for the moment. I am kind of pushing the envelope with building and learning CAM at the same time.

That's cool. I picked up another machine to get what I need done and decided against the setup and stuff based on my timeline. I do not know the fate of the Dyna but the only thing that seems to be missing is the metal cover to the electronics. i just need to get my prototype done by the end of Jan 2013. Then I will decide.
