    Mazatrol 640m PC-Fusion-CNC - Crashing when booting

    Hi,

I lost the BIOS config in my control (battery died) and now I'm not sure if it is configured correctly, and the machine will not start correctly. Can anybody tell me the config that I should see in the "User accessible CMOS area"? Right now, every index (from 70h to 7Fh) is set to [00]h. Is that correct or should there be anything else there?

If this is correct, what could cause the error I'm having, which is:

The machine starts and boots in WIN95. After, I see the loading screen for the Mazatrol control, but it crashes, telling me that at64main DLL has crashed (followed by2 other similar programs), and I'm back to windows.

Is there anything else that might have been lost because the battery died?

Also, the HDD seems fine. I have a verified working ghost (the ghost was tried in the machine when is was made, and worked fine), so I tried with it and I got the same errors.

    Thanks

I do hope you had a backup boot disc set with all your parameters...
My battery died, and the OS did the same thing after I replaced it... didn't want to get out of Win95 into the Mazak screen. Needed to reload.

I was lucky that I didn't lose programs or existing tools, parameters, etc... it just rewrote what was missing.

How do you get to the CMOS without an external keyboard?

NSW, I don't know... I used an external keyboard

But I'm having someone look at the machine this morning, so hopefully, it will be up and running before noon.

If you lost the battery then your SRAM is messed up. You need to initialize and then re-load all data.

I thought of that. But in the past when I had that problem I never had problems with the Mazatrol program starting. It always started and then gave a screen full of alarms due to lost parameter data in the SRAM. He still may have to do that once he gets his other problem solved.

Yup, the control was reinitialized, and the parameters were reloaded, that solve the problem...

For Magic 64 with PC, it's:
    Reloading Ladder and Parameters
    1 – Open C:\melpcnc\Mmi32\magictrs.exe
2 – Using the Transfer program, transfer backup:
    a) USERPLC.LAD in PC to M01\LAD\USERPLC.LAD in NC
    b) ALL.PRM in PC to M01\PRM\ALL.PRM
    c) FILESYS.BIN in PC to M01\PRM\FILESYS.BIN
    d) PARAMET.BIN in PC to M01\PRM\PARAMET.BIN
    3 – Restart the control.

Note you can reset your NC card from your control panel, hardware, ? category, double click to open the window and you'll have a button for resetting. You need to use your backups done from BEFORE the memory got corrupted.

    Cheers.
