I am not sure what type of machine you are looking at but I will tell you about our machines. We have 3 VM2's which I think they now call them VM20, a VMX42 (milling machines), a TM8 and a TMM10 (lathes). I think the thing that makes the Hurco's stand out is their conversional programming. We do about 99% of our programming on the machine and the rest we do with Pro Manfacturing. These machines run 10-11 hours a day and we have ver few problems. I don't think we have more or less problems than what you would get with any other machine company. The 3D conversional programming is second to none and you can do a ton of stuff with it so you don't have to go to an offline package. Let me know is you have an specific questions and I will see if I can answer them. Also we have had the mills and the TM8 lathe for 7 years and the TMM10 for about 3 years, if you were looking for service life.

Hurco has one of the easiest conversational programing capabilities out there. Easy to pick up and learn quickly. I have delt with Bridgeport, Haas, Fanuc, and Fagor controls. Hurco on conversational is start running the day you get it.
