    Engraving color fill options

I've in the process of making some Dead Pedals for Subaru's (The pedal on the floor where you rest your foot when not using your clutch).

Problem is they look really good when the surface is brushed aluminum and the letters are colored, but my current process takes 15 minutes to do.

I basically apply powder coat like a screen print, I dab a little on top the letters, and then use a business card to move it around and remove the excess, it worked once but now its just getting too difficult.

What would be some other options I could try? I want something that will be easily applied yet won't make a mess or cost a fortune.

Depends on the exact way you want it to look, but simply painting it all sloppy then just sanding the face(your brushed look) would leave the engraving perfectly painted. There are YouTube videos on this however.

Seriously wanna know how we do this on aircraft instrument panels? Special enamel paint in a needle tip paint pen.
