I keep getting this error code 0x80070002 I Googled it and said it is XP registry problem having to do with XP license. I followed directions on how to fix it and the files it says to delete are not there the complete folder is gone..

Are these the instructions you were following?

"Error Code: 0x80070002" error message cites license-checking issue after upgrade on Dell computer

Regedt32.exe is a file in the c:\Windows folder. Double click it to run it. Find those two HKEY_USERS entries and delete them.

There is a simpler fix but it involves downloading a file through the Wiki site.

    How To Fix 0x80070002 Error?

I have no idea if either of these will cure the problem. They claim to.

Looks like the system registry folder has been corrupted to the point that the file system can no longer read it, or something like a virus or trojan has deleted it, or a hard disk drive sector got damaged from a hard bump.

Have you tried to do a normal system restore procedure to restore it back to the last previously working state?

It's in the Start menu under Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center in Win 7. It may be a slightly different path in older versions of Windows.

I will try again it last time it would not restore.

I tried every restore point since I reformatted the PC. four months worth even the ones I setup manually and it would not restore so I think you may be right C1. Now if I buy a new hard drive do I just remove this one and install a new one I don't know how to go about it. I soon will have enough money rapped up in this machine I could have bought a new one..

If your computer's main board has the SATA connectors you can use one like this Toshiba HDKPC03 DT01ACA100 1TB Hard Drive - 1TB, 7200 RPM, SATA, 3.5 at TigerDirect.com Toshiba 1 Tb for $59. If it is too old to have them you may as well get a new computer. Tiger Direct is where I get my new machines from anymore.

If you just buy the HDD replacing it is usually easy. Make sure that your screwdriver is not magnetized, not even a little. Then you have to format the drive and install the operating system and all software. You'll need an OEM version of Windows, not an upgrade version.

I made a couple from Walnut which turned out great with the Tung Oil finish but I would have to persuaded with a taser to use Tung Oil again. Great finish but a ton of work. I would have taken pictures but they had personal information on them as they were company gifts to long term employees.
Lou, good luck on the new hard drive. I’m almost in the same boat, I had to turn down my Acc and Vel on my controller PC to keep it stable. After 12 years severing me well this old PC is just about to give up, the fans are getting noisy, the onboard battery is dead and sometimes it fails to boot.
I have been playing some CoD: BO2 with my son but his PC is just borderline able to play the game so he will get a new one on boxing day and the CNC will get his old one. If there is anything I can help with on the new PC just ask.
    Merry Christmas everyone
    Thank You.

Probably before SATA interfaces. Google 'SATA cables' to see what the connectors look like if you don't know them.

Very nice work Drools. You and others are proving that these boxes can look good without all the complexity that I have been putting into them. I have four or more to do but I promised them next spring. I needed a break from them to learn the 3D software modeling and do some changes to my property.

Never used it but you can find Formby's version of it at Lowes and Home Depot or any other woodworking site like Woodcraft, Rockler, Klingspor Woodworking, and others will have Tung oil in some form.

For ease of use and quicker completion time I have stayed with polyurethane brushed or sprayed. I always spray the final coat.

Nice looking boxes drools...I agree with C1. The boxes don't have to be busyto have a nice look.

Great finish. Ive never used Tung Oil. What makes it so much a pain to use.

This is my first year with vectric, does anyone have previous years advent calenders?
