How much over sized should I go with my ballnut ball bearings?

So I bought some cheapo ballscrews off ebay months ago and finally installed one on the z axis. I have about .010 of backlash which I kind of expected since when you hold the screw, the nut has tons of play.
    Nice rapids now though

I measured one of the ball bearings with a mic and I'm getting .1250 on the dot, or 3.175mm.

Do guys buy a couple new sets in .001" increments, or tenths? I understand there might be lead errors so I'll have to be careful not to snug things right up for fear of it siezing up at points.

I wouldnt mind a double nut on z, but for the sake of simplicity I want to avoid it on x and y. To be honest, for what I do .010 backlash is tolerable, but I would like to drop it down to .005 if I can.

what i purchased ballscrews they have around 0.001 backlas.. or less..

but... ballbearings came with them they were out of all class..

check on skf 7200 series.. you can buy in pair..
if you enquiry over phone ask about ""angular contact"" they comes in pair.. factory matched pairs..

for Z axis you migth use 2 trustbearing.. accompanied with one deepgrove

if you use angularcontact nearings, then need no trust bearing.. they called sometime ""shoulder bearing""

the 0.01 play sounds too much play for ball screw.. i think skf has different size steelballs you can buy and replace...

also call vxbbearings they hqave possible everything you need..

If you have 5/8" screws and the Roton type of nuts you should be able to fit .257" balls in it.

i would check how much cost a replacement ... to buying 2-3 or more set of balls, to finding the rigth size migth cost as a new one..

items in linearmotionbearings store on eBay!

if you dont like ebay, techno isel also sells rolled ballscrews for great price...

the backlash you posted simply too much for a ballscrew.. i would check on bearings too...

I had .006 and .008 on my x and y with .125 balls, I have gone up to .127 balls and now have 000 on one and .003 on the other. So in my case .002 got rid of .006 of backlash. YMMV
