    Question Cable Chain

Can anyone explain to me how I go about measuring how much cable chain I will need for each axis? Thank in advance.

McMaster has a good drawing that shows this but it depends on a lot so its really only going to be useful for McMaster chain. Its usually a little longer than half of axis travel, that number of course depends on the size of the axis and the chain size. My plasma table X axis has about 110" of travel and the chain needed to be a foot longer.

I checked out your plasma build and git some great ideas for the next router I build. Nice work. I also saw how you added the supports for the cable chain, I like the small brackets that the chain lays into.

If you go to the Igus website, you just enter dome dimensions and it will tell you how much you need. You need to go to the product pages to find this.
