Hello all,
I've wanted to build a CNC machine for years but due to the cost and time required never got around to it. Until now.

To keep costs low and the complexity reasonable I've started building this machine with wood and parts from local hardware stores. I've built the gantry and deck so far. I used 18" drawer slides as shown in the YouTube video link below, but I've ordered some 28" drawer slides online that are reported to hold up to 100 pounds and are much beefier.

This is my first stab at this and we'll see how the slides go. For the stepper motors and board I'm thinking I'll get one of the eBay kits for around $170.

I'm open to all comments, pro and con. Thanks.

Dan
