Any tricks to importing a STL file from soildWorks to Slic3r? I keep getting errors.
Upload the stl to Netfabb Cloud to fix it, only takes a few minutes and then you can download the fixed file.

Either that or download the "Basic" version of Netfabb studio. Unfortunately SolidWorks makes really faulty .STL files with holes and open edges. Netfabb Studio will import the STL and give you some options to repair it. After the repair you can replace the original SW STL with the one from Netfabb and print away! I think using the actual application is quicker and less hassle than the cloud service.
I'm exactly the opposite, I use the Netfab app to split parts up but never had much luck fixing parts.
The cloud does it easy for me and in almost no time.

I found that importing them in to 123 Design or Sketchup and then saving as a STL works very well.
