    Harrison CNC vs450 Advice Please

    Hi

I got the chance to buy a Harrison VS450 cnc lathe - Fanuc controller. Any advice on the quality of these and what can and cannot be done with them would be much appreciated.

I was looking for something to do small run CNC components.

    Regards

    Shane

If it has the 0T controller, that is a fairly decent control.
I know nothing of the lathe itself, but if you buy it and it does not come with copy of the parameters, macro's and 900 options, copy them ASAP after getting the lathe.

Thanks for that Al - it is coming out of a University and should have had a good life and have all docs.

You should make copies of all this to be sure before moving it. Thats when it seems they get lost when unhooked from power, then if you dont have them it gets into a mess.

    Hi Jess
Thanks for that - I know this is a terribly amateur question but how do I do that? Is it just a backup of the software settings to data pen?

Find out first if they are already in either hard copy or on disc.

    Gentlemen

Thanks for the replies - I will see the machine under power on Tuesday and should get to grips with it all.

Just a thought but is there a typical type of work this engine-cnc lathe does?
