    Fanuc 0iMD - Can't write to parameters

    Hi all,
We have a problem with our new vmc machine with a 0iMD control.

We have 2x 4thaxis rotaries which have different motors, and therefore different parameters.
On our 0iMC machines, we have 2x separate programs. One is for each rotary with each different parameter set related to it's rotary. One prog is activated by M123, the other by M124.
So we enter M123 in MDI, which automatically opens the control (pwe), writes/changes the relevant paramaters, alarms saying 'turn off power' and when we re-boot, the parameters are changed to suit the rotary.
    The M123 prog is below:-

    O9002(TANSHING 5C SWITCH M123)
    (TANSHING RNC-115C SWITCH MACRO)

We have loaded this program into the D machine and changed the L50 for L52 as per the OiMD fanuc book, but it doesn't work.
Has anyone tried anything similar on the D control, or got any ideas?

    Cheers

When you say it doesn't work... do you get any alarms?

    Did you try L50 also?

    Thanks for the replies.
The book says L50 is now only for pitch error compensation.
L52 seems to write only the 1st 2x lines of the program and stops, and if you read the yellow books, it only shows a 2x line example.
Fanuc UK aren't sure, so have put a call into Fanuc Luxembourg.

Ha ha Thanks Dcoupar, i have a nice new windows 8 pc, and it seems to do strange things, hence why i totally missed the original, in Chrome now, whew.

There are certain parameters that you cannot write to using L52, normally power off parameters. The 0i-D seems stricter than say 18i's.

I know its a long winded procedure, but have you tried inputting them individually to see if one doesn't go in? I agree, neither the descriptions or user manual state anything about a Max of 2.

You might have one that doesn't go.

Talking of Fanuc Uk (my old employer), there apps department have broke up for Xmas, just spoke to them this morning.

    Just a quick follow-up.
Apparantly someone in their infinite wisdom at fanuc thought no one used this function so it got removed/deleted from the D software.
I've been told from my MTB that Fanuc is going to add it back in because a lot of customers are moaning that functionality has been lost.
When the software has been revised, our machine will be updated.

    WRONG!!!
This was I believe an off the cuff comment that was passed to me 2nd hand.
The truth is, it was a parameter as fanuc have been in today and sorted it.
The L52 has to be written instead of the L50, but everything now runs ok.
