    Fanuc 6T, crazy alarm

    Good morning.

I'm working with a Mori SL4 with Fanuc 6T controller.

I'm very confused with the last alarm shown in the screen.

During nut thread cutting, just for M48x 5, the machine fails and shows the next alarm: 221 OT -Z...

I know that this means that stroke limit switch was pressed.

Last month I had problems with the same alarm. So I cleaned all the machine, specially the limit switches, beacuse I thought that this was dirty.

But yesterday when this happened again, and the sensor was clean and not activated. So I remembered that this just happens during nut (M48x5) thread cutting. Is the same alarm just in this case. The machine works good for any other kind of machining.

I think that the machine is going crazy.

    What do you think?

    Regards

I checked the electric panel, switches, and they seems to be Ok.

I know that it seems a silly question.

I can't explain it neither. But I just changed the program to other nut meassures, bolts, etc, all they worked fine. But I can't work with the same measure, because this fails again (I changed the program more than 5 times).

    :-(

when does it fail, while threading or as it rapids back to the start? to narrow the possibilities try the same thread air cutting. still fails? try with the speed very low (like 20rpm). still fails? try with rapid set to 50% or 25%. still fails?

    Hi ,
we had similar problem, and reason was the cable which following Z axes.
Your machine is old lady and that type of problems is not strange.

    fordav

It fails while turret is backing to the start.

I tryed thread air cutting, and it worked fine

The next days I worked with any other kind of cutting and it was OK. I didn't run the same program again (nut threading)

I'm going to change wiring and test with lower speed.

    Thank you
