    Power supplies

I want to move my CNC into my storage shed. There is no power in the shed and its a fair distance to run a extension cord. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about batteries. To run my drivers for the stepper motor, I need a 24-80VDC and was wondering if I could just wire 3 car batteries in series? I feel like there is some limitation I need to consider but i'm not sure what it is.

I was going to switch the computer to a laptop. Not sure what you mean by spindle.

If presumably this is a Lathe or Mill, there is usually a relatively large (AC or DC) motor used on the Spindle?
This either rotates the part or carries the rotating tooling.
There are a few exceptions I can think of, Robot or Pick and place etc?

I was going to try to hook up a cordless drill to work as the mill. I have to move the CNC so i'm trying to keep it as intact as possible but with some changes obviously. Do you know if there is any problem with hooking 3 car batteries together? Also the current output for the battery, I can probably look that up though

You can series up three batteries, Automotive battery will supply 100amps for just under 60secs, so i imagine they should run steppers for a while, but not the ideal as you will have to constantly recharge.
