Smile New to the CnC world

    Hello

    Im Shaheen
    i hail from the UAE

We are in the swatch book making company and usually cut MDF woods of 3mm to 4mm for our books usually about 150 boards/ order of 121.9 x 243.9 cm MDF boards. and each book size usually varies from 140cm x 45cm to 100cm x 35 cm

And different kinds of material from paper boards of 3 mm thickness to MDF boards of 4mm thickness

And per order its usually a specific size of the book that we require

so we ve decided to go the CnC router way

we have decided on this machine for cutting (ONLY CUTTING) the MDF in the required sizes

High Speed Advertising CNC Router,Cutting Plotter

Your feedback on the drill bits required as well as other inputs and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They would also be providing type 3 software bundled with the machine.

Please keep in mind that this is my first time with such a complex machine.

Thank you in advance for aLL the help.

Find out the difference between drills, end mills, and router bits. End mills and router bits are needed.

Thank you, I just did a google search.

    It seems mighty complicated.

What sort of Router bit should i use to cut through a 4mm Board of MDF clean and also 2-3mm kappa boards?

    Regards
    Shaheen

If you mean kappa board as in cardboard, that is probably hard to cut cleanly. But it may work if you use what is called a down-cut or negative spiral end mill.

With the normal rotation of the spindle these push the material down to the table during cutting where normal up-cut or positive end mills have a tendency to pull the material up.
Probably works well on thin mdf as well.

for the cardboard you may want to use a drag knife and not a bit.

3 mm is just under 1/8th of an inch, can you cut that with a drag knife? I have trouble doing that by hand...
