I guess I have been spoiled by using the epilog lasers.. Im running a rather small engraving that only takes about 4 minutes on the epilog but the same job takes around 15 minutes on the weike....


That is over 3 times as long.. The weike machine is also equiped with an 80 watt tube compared to the epilog which has a 60w tube...

Any and all suggestions are more than welcome.

Ok I think I just figured out one problem... I had my scan gap set way to low.. Was at .01 which is apparantly way over 1000 DPI.... Ill try a scan gap of .1 tomorrow and see if that helps the cause.

Changing the scan gap will make a huge difference. 1000dpi vs 500dpi will result in the engraving taking twice as long. At .01 scan gap, you were engraving at 2540dpi. Dropping down to 500dpi you should see engraving speeds drop from 15 minutes to 3-4 minutes.

Scan gaps smaller than the physical beam size are pointless, all you will do is run over the same stuff time and time again

The only exception is when grade engraving

Its all much better now.. I misread the settings.. It works great now that I have the proper settings.. Thanks for all your responses!
