    mastercam somewhat slow

    Hello,

Is there a way to speed up mastercam at all?

I find that it takes alot of time to generate a stock model when it is 'dirty' as it becomes machined.

Do you find that the stl file save after verify is quicker than creating stock models? What would the drawbacks be?

Mastercam works fine but seems sometimes to be slower than other co workers computers.

A little more info is required

    Is this a :-

    Lathe operation ?
    Toolpath verify in milling...etc ?
    surfacing path generation ?

your settings can dictate how long a particular event takes to display

That could be any one of a million things.

Maybe just do the typical defrag, spam killer/anti virus stuff to start if your computer is the same specs as theirs.

Some time Stock model takes time if it is a large file.you are able to keep working as it will update on anther core.
Of course a fast computer will speed it up.
What are the specs of your computer?

my operations are typical milling operations( 2d dynamic ops). I had a stock model between almost every op.

After deleting them i noticed my software was running faster. I think the stock models were slowing my processing speed down.

( I had a stock model between almost every op. ) That right there can cause it to slow down why would you have so many as you would do this say after roughing the hole part or a side of part but not after each op as the system is trying rebuild these to much.
