Fadal VMC40 Y Axis way cover removal

What is the best suggested method for changing the way cover wipers on the Y axis way covers?

Do i need to remove the front of the machine and remove the way covers totally to install the new wiper and wiper protector?

    Thanks for any advice!!

The other thing you need to watch is for shims under the cover legs as you pull up the cover. These shims are usually brass and allow the bottom of the slide to match the top of the boxed way. Without matching the height on reinstallation you can break the cover with a rapid Y move.
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

I was wondering, I have to replace the wipers on my 3020 Fadal. Is there a link that will help me step by step.
