    New steel Build 36" 48"

Started building the table this weekend, Used a blade from a snowplow for the sides along with some 1" 1" intermediate supports. I have tons of questions the first being should I use one centrally located ballscrew or two, (one each side).

What are the synchronization problems I may run into in doing the later.

Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Here is a good place to start reading for a similar design.

    Hi Chris,

for your size of table, I'd recommend that you use two screws for the Y-Axis. I used one 25mm screw and whilst I don't have any racking issues, the single 380 Oz-in motor stalls too easily carrying the weight of the gantry.

Mach3 has an option to sync these motors together easily and I've not heard of any problems in doing this.

    Cheers, Richard

    Richard ,
I will definitely take your advice for the two ballscrew approach. Guess I'll order another .

    I'm considering a Gecko G540 4 axis with 380 oz stepper motors or the Keiling NEMA23 282 oz-in closed-loop stepper Motor package.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
