    Airfoil Help

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right spot to post this question. What I'm trying to do is create a wing in CAD is a solid model and make a tool path from there. The software that I use to make the foil is Compufoil, if you know the software it is way cool. The problem exists between the two programs, I can export a DXF into CAD and see the foil and move it around but can't make a tool path because it is a raster image and not its own entity. If any one has any ideas on how I can fix this problem that would be great! Thank you for looking.

You need surfaces (IGS) or solid (STP), not lines (DXF) as your export.

The compufoil uses an add-on module for exporting to dxf. dxf is not a raster format. As a base, they "print templates". These will be the rasters. The dxf export should get you geometry. Maybe look at your export process to get the dxf out.

    Post a sample.
