Al,
I have v25 pro but i have found out that i can program 2 d tool
path for quicker machine time that using the 3d roughing...
i have tried but it almost doubles the time to machine...am i doing something incorrect?

It will depend on what you are cutting . In some cases 2D toolpaths are more efficient and will give you the comp needed to adjust for the tolorances of the part. There are a lot of things to consider when looking at which toolpath to choose to cut a part. Like shape and tolorances of that area. Do you need cutter comp control or not and tools to be used. But the advanced rough is a really good toolpath that will give you a lot of control when doing a 3D rough out.
