Wanting to learn as much as I can about CNC and would very much like to visit a shop or someone with a homebrewed system. I want to try my hand at building my own. I do freehand plasma now and have gotten pretty good and can produce some nice products/projects but I spend an awful lot of time "cleaning up" or detailing the pieces and think that if I could master CNC I may could possibly get more done with less time. I would still cut a lot of things freehanded but would use the CNC to do things that I would need multiple pieces cut for.

I'm located about midways between Hattiesburg and Stateline, MS... (little town at the Mississippi/Alabama state line).

I only get to play around with metal work in spare time since my regular job is teaching agriculture in a Career and Technical Center to high school kids. I try to incorporate as much metal work into the class curriculum as I can get away with and have had some students go through the program and end up going to Welding or Machine Shop programs as the local JuCo's.
