    Heian-562P with fanuc 15M: Y-and V-axis do not work

Hello, we are bringing back to work mentioned above machine (manufacturing year 1993).

It was ca. 3 years out of operation and no backup is avalalble. Tape does not work and no PC yet to connect via RS232. HEIAN does not have any parameters backup as well. Closest service company found out some parameters in papers and succeded to move X-axis in JOG mode It is possible also to move axis-Z up/down (and start/stop/change rpm of spindle) in MDI mode with M-/S-codes.

But Y and V axis are completely dead.

We have checked the parameters to see if there is a difference for X, Y and V and found out actually some difference on parameters 18xx - like on picture attached. Could it be the reason of different "behaviour" of X, Y and V ? Acc.to manual 1853 cannot be 0.

For reference I have attached also screen with 9000

Thanks a lot in advance for any comments and suggestion how to proceed. FANUC already invited.

Parameter 9000 sets the number of controlled axes; for you machine that should be 3 or possibly 4. That will have to be done in IPL mode in a special procedure. Then you will need many parameters to be set up, including PMC.
It is best to get a set of parameters from an identical machine and enter these.

Thanks and - yes - that is what we plan now and was offered also by service company, takes in our location some time of course and some money

What do you think if we change 9000 to 3 (or 4 - can get that from Heian for sure) and then will try to copy parameters specified currently for X (which seems preliminary OK) to Y and V, presumimg that operation of both coordinates on both tables should be most likely 1identical ?. Probably Heian could confirm that as well.

You cannot change any 9000 series parameter directly. That will have to be done in IPL mode in a special procedure, OR an easier way is to do that through the serial port, if you can communicate. We have done this hundreds of times; copying the X params to the Y axis may be ok to start with, but it may take a lot of time to set them correctly.
Your best bet is to contact Heian and they should be able to find a customer with an identical machine to get the correct parameters from.

also, 9000 is simply the number of axes. that means SERVOS.
just count how many servos you have and set that number in 9000
There are option parameters that set additional axis control and whether the axis is CNC (Fanuc) or PMC controlled. Those are critical or it won't work at all.
As stated the best method is to find another identical machine with the same specification and copy the parameters.
