Looking for a quote to fabricate a small bespoke router table for model making. Have more information if you want to PM me. UK based but can arrange shipping from USA; only small parts.

No small off-the-shelf tables in the UK? Rather than custom?

cant seem to find anything to do this...
    as:-

im suprised too... assume the tool would be a dremel and its constrained x and y by use of bar slider rails.... move x and y by hand....

Seems to be similar to a trace cutting machine rather than CNC?
Do you have the whole post link?
Most of the posts here are those looking to build CNC in order to get away from the trace idea?

This looks like a pin router would work. What type of material are you going to be cutting (wood, aluminum ?)

    APPRECIATE HELP AL AND JOHN.. T H A N K S .. ;-)

    al..
trace cutting machine?... WHATS THAT.. IM NO EXPERT...
cnc at a later date (seperate) whereas this is a copy for original components (legacy)

    john
pin router?. WHATS THAT.. IM NO EXPERT...
the profile to follow is 5mm steel.. the copy need to be made in 5mm wood...

    see http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attach...s-cuttable.png

ignore info in that original post...

the x and y track allowing me to retain perpendicular to the part (good 90 degree edges) and moved by my hand.... the cutter follows profile of the metal and wood underneath.... may need to z move the cutter to allow profiles cut inside the metal (lift. move. drop etc) ... COPY NEEDS TO BE EXACT... DONT MIND ODD FILLET IN INTERNAL CORNERS; AS DERIVED FROM CUTTER BIT... BUT NEED SMALL CUTTER DIAM OF COURSE... probably 50-75 parts and need a good few copies of each...

parts to cut no bigger than 10"x10".. please no pantograph or plunge router as that would wobble... the metal shape may be 2 plates connected together so no flat surface to metal (bolted together also... connected to wood same way.. to retain the sandwich as the cut made)...

as size is max 10 x 10 do i really need a router table?.. couldnt i attach a cutter (like dremel) and approach the shape from above?.. much cheaper im sure... also only cutting 1/4" wood.. thoughts?

Overhead or underhead. Just put the tracing pin on the table and fix the dremel (router) to an overhead arm. (just a reverse of the examples)

friend just emailed me and asked why i couldnt have a scissor type 'thingy' to attach a dremel (or other if better) ... as attached image... looging down from top, left is the dremel and the x y movement comes from the scissor movement.. suggests if the scissor is jointed well is should not move at all in the z axis...
then suggests this cuts the material somehow attached to any table required... even worktop at home.... thoughts?... see attached idea image he sent.. would need making i guess...

just drafted this out... wouldnt this work?... dremel mounted .. hinge allows x y movement... piece to cut on table.. this fixed to table... think the dremel should then be constrained from z movement if hinged well..
