I think that MSG-501 is a mori seiki name for the control. Most Fanucs with a card slot at the operator station use IO number 4 to make that the active device.
What have you tried so far? Normally set the IO channel to 4, then away you go.
There is a param to set what the P after the M198 means. Thats about it from memory.

Just changing the io channel won't allow drip feed from the slot. There was a couple other parameters. Should just be a Fanuc 18imb. If you have a new enough mapps panel, you can store the entire program in the mapps side and run it from there, the mapps will fiber optic feed it to the fanuc, and the program stays in the mapps memory, so no tying up a pc, or complicated drip set up. Early mapps had about 50mb available while new ones can hold 6-10gb.

Is it fanuc 18i control ?
Please confirm

Hi All,
Managed to get the flash card to drip feed. Thanks to all.
I realize that this thread is over a year old, but I was wondering if you could inform me of what you had to do in order to get your drip feed to work?
