    Milling thin wall 7050 Aluminum

Im programming some bigger blocks of 7050. The part has .050" thick walls and floors. Im completely new to thin wall machining and 7050 both. Ive done some research and what Ive came up with is using smaller tools with a radius. Can anyone confirm this or have any better advice? Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Larger tools to rough. Smaller tools to finish. 3 flute high helix uncoated carbide. Bull nose when possibile to help avoid step down lines. Use shortest tool possible. Then you start into machining strategies. Inside first? Outside first? Long walls inside and outside first then short walls?

so far is pretty good. I hear this material moves a lot so Im hoping that I dont need to release the part before running the finish passes.

My limited experience is that it is about the easiest Al alloy to machine there is. It behaves more like mild steel than alloys like 6061. Nice clean chips. (using manual lathe and mill )
