REVISED... I need a quote to send someone stainless steel 1/4" square rod to be tapped with 10-32 thread, using machine tapping,
not hand tapping. The 1/4" square rod is 1-1/4" long, and the tapping would be at the end of the rod, through the entire 1/4" depth as shown...



The process would involve:

1. I will send out 200 square rods.

2. One sample to be tapped and sent to me for review.

3. Remaining 199 square rods to be tapped and sent to me.

10-32 thread is to be centered in the bearing.

A loose thread is ideal, definitely not tight.

what happened to the s.s.bearings? are they now 1/4 sq.rods?
i can do them even cheaper.

Yes, they are now 1/4" rod, but hardness is more now, at Rockwell Hardness B Scale 95.

EDIT: Delivery of first test part ASAP once you receive the material from me. Remaining parts at your earliest convenience after I've been able to verify the thread on the first part is not a tight fit.

I will order the square rod to myself (three 96" lengths), cut them down to 1.25" lengths myself, and then send them to you to be tapped. (I don't have machine tapping capability)
