Does anyone know if there is a way to change the position of the table for a tool change ? The machine returns to Machine zero every time to do a tool change. Can this be set in the parameters or does it need to be set in the post ? I am using the Mastercam V9 Fadal 1 post to post programs. I would like the table to move on the (Y Axis) towards the door of the machine .

I modified the post for Mastercam to move the table forward on my 4020. It's relatively simple. I can't remember if modified it for all tool changes or just the end of the program, but I think I did it for all. If not, it wouldn't be too difficult. You can find the post in this thread:

This assumes you are using format 2 instead of format 1 on your controller. If you just start going through the post processor, you'll see where it makes it's tool changes, etc. Just add or modify code to do whatever you like. For things like this, changing the post is very easy.
