can't get buttons in screen 4 to work.

Newbie, loaded screen4, did my whole complex WIZARD layout, added buttons, each has button image and the
transparent button over the button image. VB script function set. Default pointing at addons/my_wizard.

Call my wizard in Mach3, comes up LOOKS GREAT. Operator/edit button script, my buttons blink!

So far, so good!

But, if I click on a button or anywhere on page everything goes away except the blinking buttons and background. NO VB script editor windows comes up.

STUCK! tried everything I can think of.

I can call up the vb script editor manually, but seems to be no way to link to a button.

Can you clarify exactly what you did? It sounds like you have a button on top of a button?

The best thing to do is have a single background image of the entire screen, and place your transparent buttons on top of them. The transparent buttons must have a transparent .png file attached as the image to work correctly.
The only time you want to "layer" multiple objects in screen4 is to have a dual state button, with an :ED under a transparent button.

INTERMITTENT. Deleted my buttons, this time just used "BUTTON"
2 of 3 now work. 3rd will not work, deleted, added, deleted, added, deleted, copied one of others,
NO JOY! What am I doing wrong.

MAY HAVE figured out what it was doing.
I had text beside the button, that had a WIDTH that was bigger than
it needed to be, and was sticking out behind button. Shrunk unused text width,
and MACH3 EDIT BUTTON SCRIPT then pops up the VB window. STRANGE!

I think I had similar going on earlier. I had BUTTON IMAGE behind a transparent
BUTTON, and same issue. Removing the BUTTON IMAGE fixed that.
SOUNDS LIKE A SCREEN4 BUG. You are supposed to be able to put image behind button!

I assume my .set file is not useful, as it now works, I don't have earlier version,
and you can create the situation very easily.

As I said before, avoid layering items, as getting them in the proper order is problematic. Using a single background image is much simpler.
