So I looked up schematics online for my stepper motors which came from build your cnc. I think I may have wired them wrong on the first go but double checked everything on my second and still have motors that after I plugged the powersupply in they will not turn. I am going to check and see if the electromagnet has released itself by now, cause I took them apart and it acted like it still had power and I could not turn the motors freely anymore. Not sure what to do I will post pics of my setup and maybe someone can tell me what im doing wrong.

They turned freely before I plugged them in, also wont turn when I jog them. And after I plug the power supply in they wont turn freely anymore.

Stepper motors are suppose to lock up when power is applied.

You shouldn't be taking the motors apart,it can ruin them.

Motors were locked after power was turned off. And as far as taking them apart I only took the shaft assembly out of the casing not real hard to put it back in, however I have solved my problem of why they wouldnt turn I did not have a complete circuit. Now the motors pulse they just need to be tuned. The only thing that really tears up those stepper motors is taking apart the shaft assembly which I was not prepared to do knowing the problem was electrical.
