Ok I will be the guinea pig
my impression is people would want higher voltage so they could run thier steppers faster, if you are running steppers. It very much depends on what motors you want to run. Without the power requirements for your motors you can't determine the optimal power supply required.
i have some of these chinese supplies via xzero. i use them only for accessories. the main thing with these supplies, whether 24 or 48v is that they drop voltage ALOT under load. so if say, you have 3 x 3 amp steppers and use the 2/3 load rule, youll want a supply rated for 12 amps or more to get proper consistent behavior.
I have been running machine on 12v since I built it 24v would be a big stepup for me
I am using 3 vexta 2A steppers hobbycnc board.
I was more curious to know if anyone has bought any of these chinese PSU's and were they any good.
If the 24v 15A one works it will be perfect for me.
Well i think its cheap enough to get one to try, am sure when your machine is running its only using a few Amps so there is plenty of over head available that you should have no/minimal voltage drop.
Get one and let us know how you get on.
I'll get it finished sometime after I start it.....
