how to program multiple v groov

    Hi:

On okuma lathe, I am programing a multiple 90 degree v groove (using 55 degree,1/32 insert, v groving tool,), I tried OD groove and OD wide groove, but didn't get what I want.

    Any suggestion will be helpful,Thanks!

in G code it's easy. feed in, out, across then repeat.
you mention you tried OD groove and OD wide groove. can we assume you want to know how to program your grooves using IGF?

Since Okuma IGF grooving cycles want to have a flat in the bottom of them at least as wide as your groove tool, lets skip that. You could just define it as an OD turning process and rough & finish them using your 55 degree tools. Be sure to define the nose radius as type 8 in your tool data. You can have up to 8 "V"'s before the roughing cycle will need to be split into more than one cycle.

    Best regards,
