Hey dudes,
I made a little mod for my mill and thought someone else might find it useful. I have a Grizzly rotary grinder that I bought on sale for $30. The engraving on my SX3 was too slow with the 1800 RPM max speed, so I made this little rig to attach to my mill head and give me 8K-35K RPM and it accepts my 1/8" carbide engraving bits! It attaches/detaches easily with two M8 screws at the top and allows proper ventilation for cooling of the grinder. I made some design adjustments after this first prototype .. but it works so well that I will probably never get around to remaking it. If anyone is interested, I will send you the solidworks files

Ooh slick idea on the attach, didn't know this forum supported that.

Anyway, anyone interested in reproducing this should increase the spindle clamp diameter by another .02" or so. I had to hand fit mine a bit off of these dimensions.

Saw your video - looks interesting, I have a Dremel similar to your engraver, did you ever get around to posting the plans? I might be able to modify them?

I also have an SX3 which I am currently converting to CNC
