series 1 boss 4.. Need advice on disassembly and cleaning

I came across a series 1 boss 4 on craigslist and picked it up cheap enough that one atm withdraw covered it.

In order to get it home I had to split it into 2 runs to get it home in my tacoma.

It looks generally complete and in good shape but dirty and nasty and since its already mostly apart I want to finnish the job and also repaint it.

the only main components left assembled in the bottom end are the knee and column

top end was removed in one piece

So should I continue and remove the knee?

I am planning to pressure was and air dry the lower end components.

What about the top end. Its seems like it will be difficult to disassemble while its off and in one piece, should it go back on, before being torn down?

    Any advice is appreciated.

I would not pressure wash a cnc mill. Use a liberal application of your favorite liquid cleaner. (I happen to use 409). Brush it on, and eventually you'll have to start with a scrub brush and some elbow grease.

Personally, I'd put the head back together before trying to work on it.

There is a stand which looks like a washing machine agitator. You attach it to the head and to the table (I think)... It now acts as a lift which will raise and lower the head during the assembly/disassembly process. I've never removed or replaced a head, so I'm mostly just blowing smoke on this aspect.
