[Fudge]

Hi all.

For no *obvious* reason, our Bridgeport 412 + Heidenhain TNC155 combination has suddenly taken to losing its parameters every time we power down.

Buffer battery voltage looks fine, and I have tried both rechargables (NiMHs) and alkaline Duracells.

I can upload a new parameter file using TNCremoNT, after which the machine starts up in English and will upload part programs. This is a faff, and crucuially loses Program 0 that contains all the tool offsets and turret data.

The parameters disappear again on powerdown, leaving me with a German-speaking machine saying "Betriebsparametern geloescht" etc., next time I power up.

Any thoughts on where I should look for troubleshooting? It's behaving as if the battery voltage is not getting to the motherboard.

The back up batteries are diode isolated from the RAM board charging circuit, sounds like the diode has gone open circuit. As said give Mike Coltron a call, and when you do give him my regards,

i have the same problem and i test the batary cell ..it is ok4.7v so please told me where i find the diode to chick up
