    Alliant vs Bridgeport Mill

Does anyone know the actual difference between a Bridgeport and Alliant mill? I have an Alliant mill with variable speed drive. I need a motor assembly and some various parts. Alliant parts and difficult to find but Bridgeport are not. Alliant and Bridgeport seem to be very close but i am not sure I could buy parts for a Bridgeport and have them fit an Alliant. Any help would be great. Thanks,

    Charles

Why do you need a motor assembly, if the bearings are bad just take the motor apart and replace them. unless the motor got fried electrically there is nothing in a 3phase motor to go bad except bearings. as far as other parts there's only one way to find out unfortunately. Todd

    Needed Motor

I need a complete motor and pulley assembly. I picked up a mill that does not have a motor.

In that case, consider buying a motor and vfd(i got mine from automation direct) and gut the mechanical varidrive install 1-1 micro vee belts and have electric variable speed. Todd

True the Alliant is a Bridgeport clone and alot of the parts will interchange but it is a case by case trial and error process.

I can provide parts for Alliant, Bridgeport, Acra, Acer, Clausing, Sharp, Birmingham, and AccuMills but I'm not sure if the admins here allow solicitation.

I will ask if its ok first and if so, provide my company info.

    Good luck!!!
