Sanyo Denki (103h7823-1760) - opinions about motors

    Hi,

I was planning on buying Keling KL23H2100-50-4B for 55$ but i went trough Sanyo Denki catalog and found model 103h7823-1760 that has very similar parameters and its only 75$-83$ at newark. According to datasheet Sanyo can spin up to 2000 RPM and still retain decent torque at PS voltage AC 100V.

I was reading quite a bit about stepper motor drivers but most off the material is about DC supplied drivers. Could someone explain shortly how does AC supplied driver work or sand me to some article, please.

How good are Sanyo's and is there anything else worth recommending in this price range. Parameters are approx. 4-5 A, 2,2 mH, 550 LBS/inch // 3-4 Nm.

    regards
    Bart

AC is irrelevant. What matters is the DC voltage to the driver. Higher voltage means better speed, but the motors would heat up more.

Both motors look good, but I prefer the KL23h2100. Higher torque, lower cost.

I know that mains AC is irrelevant but i doubt that by writing in catalog 100V AC they meant that they are in JAPAN, US etc. So question is what it means that they drive it from AC how does't work?

I know that it has higher torque and it's 20$ less but
    1. it has higher torque on the paper and torque vs rpm doesn't look that good https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5aF...it?usp=sharing

    2. Whole machine cost around 2000$ so i don't care if i spend 60$ more on motors that are more reliable and can go faster - I'm looking for good value for money not for good price. That's why I asked what are other brands that are decent in this price range.

I would appreciate if someone that had motors of other brands could share his experience and opinion.

    Best Regards
    Bart
