    Fanuc 31i-a Doosan 2600sy alarm 2149

I was running a part that has been running all day. After finishing a live tool cut on the sub spindle, the turret retracted to it's tool change position, and then alarmed out with "2149 servo drive overload alarm: check the overload states of turret."

I cannot get the turret to index, and cannot continue running. How can I check the overload states, and how can I get the turret to index? any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the status of X7 (all 8 bits)?

Use either the status page inside the system area, or look directly at the ladder by doing a "w-search" for "2149"

Click on that image to view the section of ladder that makes the alarm.

Thanks Dhardt, very helpful and informative as usual. The turret IS in fact in overload state. I pulled the live tool holder in the cutting position out, and the drive lug is not aligned. I have a call in to service now, but am curious what could be the cause of this?

There is a procedure for checking/confirming/changing the milling spindle orientation that can be used to see if the problem repeats or if it was a one time issue.

We would have to see if the problem is repeatable, both to test it and to isolate the action to being the only thing we are diagnosing.

If it only happens once, it's an abnormality. If it only happens twice, it's a curiosity. If it happens three times, it's a problem ...and if it's a problem, I can fix it.

I have a PDF of a maintenance manual for a 2100sy (part numbers are different, but procedures are usable.)
Would you like me to email you a copy?

Send a request to [email protected]

If anyone knows how to attach a PDF to this, I'd be happy to.

I can tear apart and rebuild most CNC equipment, but I can't figure out how to attach a picture or PDF from my computer...everybody has their weaknesses!

Below the Quick Reply dialog click "Go Advanced". Then in the tip row of buttons is the old paper clip to attach files. PDF's are limited to 4GB.

    Thanx.
The manual is 14GB, so it won't fit, but I'll keep this in mind for future posts.

Thanks Darryl, I got the drive lug oriented correctly. The pulley had slipped on the taper, so I loosened the bolts aligned the drive lug, oriented the pulley and tightened everything down. The turret now indexes correctly.
