been having alot of trouble with z axis simodrive.
not sure if it is the actual drive or the braking system and parts are pricey to start buying....software error /motor on axis fault/simodrive fault?
when running machine for about 6 hours straight (especially in hot weather), an error comes up saying drive fault reset via frequency converter.
pressed reset on the simodrive 611. after resetting, try to run the machine, clear the trip mats and notice the brakes release and the z axis drops 20mm. after dropping 20mm the brakes suddenly come back on and grab the z axis, to stop it dropping any further as a saftey measure. the tricky part to the problem is sometime it doesnt drop at all, so it allows to move the z axis manually, try to move it manually and it moves very freely and smoothly down, BUT when try to move it up, a new error comes up saying "excessive following error on axis 2" EMERGENCY STOP.
when this error comes on all the drives shut off and complete emergency is applied, so*pressed all the reset buttons and try again. same error occurs. the only remedy to get the macine running again is if shutdown and restart. one last piece on information. sometimes try to clear the mats and they dont clear, open the electrical cabinet and give the drive a small tap, this actually worked the the mats cleared. the x, y, z simodrives are interlinked with the trip mats they share the same drvie. please help with this!!
