    CNC NOT WORKING

HELP, Hi my name is Dave and I ‘am new to this site
I have just built a 3axis machine, Nema 23 motors driven by a TB6560 driver, power supply is 24v, 15amp, I have set it at 20v, and the software I have tried is Kcam and Mach3.
At first all I got was a humming from the motors and they were getting very warm, but now I ‘am
getting nothing ,all the 5 lights on the board are on and have tried all the dip switch settings, and used a new parallel cable can anyone suggest what the problem is

It's probably that cheap Chinese driver board. Many people have had problems with those things; a few have made them work with electronic modifications. Here's a (long) thread that talks about it: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/genera...r_updated.html

    Good luck...

    Do the motors lock up?

If you try to jog in Mach3, do the DRO's change?

Are all the pins on your cable straight through? If you buy a printer cable (or parallel cable) from a place like best buy, it most likely won't work, as they don't usually have all the pins going straight through.

    Hi Gerry

Not sure what a Lock up means, if you mean can I rotate them by hand when the power is on, at first NO but now YES.
The pins are straight through, I know because I had to make a new one, as the ones you can buy where to short for me
Everything on Mach3 seems to be working OK but nothing happens at the business end ,well tell a lie I do get a click an
the X axis motor but that's all
I think I will bin the driver and start a fresh its not worth messing about with

    Thanks for the comments

If you can turn the motors by hand with the power on then the drives are not working.
