    Mach 3 G 31

    I am using a small table top CNC router running Mach 3 version R3.043.066. I'm having issues with the G 31 command in the z axis. The X and Y axis probe fine, but when I try to run it in the z axis the probe will not advance far down enough to make contact with the part that is being digitized. It's very strange.... seems like it won't go any further than about a quarter of an inch down, then it stops, travels up, then steps to the side. Everything else seems to be working fine except the dept of the travel in z. Any suggestions?

    Noise is probably triggering the probe.

    Do you mean vibrations from the motor? Or electrical interference?
