Our shop in Houston produces parts for a drilling company, and the machine purchased several years ago to make the majority of these parts was a Doosan Puma TT1800SY. While the TT is fantastic for high volume production jobs, right now we are turning lower volumes of parts, and a large numbers of prototypes, which is not the TT's forte due to the long setup times between jobs. We are purchasing a pair of 2-axis turning centers to match with our large VMC in a production cell, allowing more flexibility over only having the TT to make parts, but would like to keep the TT running 24/7 if possible.
We are looking for any shops in the States which currently have high volume work beyond their existing capacities, preferably running Doosan TT machines now, with whom we can connect and expand their capacity through an extension of their existing production to our underutilized machine.
We would like the TT1800SY utilization to be 25% on our main customers' parts, for which we already have proven toolpaths, and then run high volume parts for another shop the remaining 75%. Our machine has a conveyer unloader and Roto-Rack so we have the capabilities to run lights-out. We have a very large number of live tool holders for the machine, and can produce virtually produce any part done-in-one.
Please reply back with a PM if you are a shop interested expanding your production capabilities without the overhead of an additional machine on your floor, or if you know a shop who would be interested in farming out some of their high-volume jobs.
Thanks.
