Hole ID is .9 , slot width is .2 depth is .18 total depth of part (slotted hole) will be 6"

Hole is no problem , I'm drawing a blank at to making that slot the total length of the 6" deep hole ? ?:drowning:

If you only have one or two to do you can treat the Z-Axis as a vertical shaper or slotter. Mount a suitable boring bar with a form tool in the spindle with the cutting edge facing down and stroke the spindle up and down while infeeding on X.

This will take a while but it will work. I have had to cut a lot of keyways on my lathe using this approach.

If you got lots of pieces to do, have a keyway broach reprofiled and take that approach. Just be sure that the Tool Grinder knows that you are going that deep through the bore of the part. The chip load per tooth will have to be reduced and it may require several passes with shims to move the cutter out to the total depth.

Thanks for the replies, our ISP got struck by lighting right after I posted, just got back online.
I thought about EDM, however I know NOTHING about it , also thought about having an extrusion made than cutting to the length needed.
However , I think the extrusion method is quite $$$$, but with little machining needed to finish.

Still researching the potential market for these parts
